Flo's Scarf SM.jpg

When I made that first scarf for my mother's 70th birthday, I had no idea that when I turned 70 decades later I would have the opportunity to have a retrospective art exhibition acknowledging my mastery of the medium and its community building capabilities.

Needless to say, one of my tallises showing up on the cover of the Village Voice was a highlight for me!

Colorful painted silk tallit/prayer shawl

Making spiritual garments for and with others is nothing short of fantastic...
And I was allowed to do it over and over again!

"Permission Granted" includeds a slide show of hundreds of folks making their prayer shawl or wedding canopy.

Women show the communal tallit they created as a gift to their synagoguepainted taillit

The large tallit create with an Adult B'not Mitzvah class in Davis, California is representative of the hundreds of community projects I have facilitated over the years

On rare occasions I have painted without a client or audience in mind.
This tryptich - "Home" -  is one of them.
